The talk of town amongst aspiring designers and fashion bloggers is all focused on the success of last weeks South African Menswear Week which was held at the Cape Town stadium in Greenpoint.
SAMW is Africa’s sole platform dedicated to showcasing and promoting fashionable menswear within the African continent. An event which is held twice a year and spread over four days, SAMW had everyone talking about how creative & innovative our designers were this year!
Augustine, Shirt & Co by Korbla Dzotsi, Kim Gush, Craig Jacobs and the well-known Magents brand are just a few who showcased their phenomenal ranges on the runway last week. Other brands such as Craig Port, Lucky Luke, X&O, and Ruald Rheeder (“The YDE guys”-some of my personal favourites) held their shows at the SAMW earlier this year.
The South African Menswear Week is an event which helps promote new and upcoming talent in the fashion industry, showcasing the latest trends, and at the same time enables us fashion freaks and bloggers to network all under one roof!
Judging by the great success of this years event, we honestly cannot wait to see what next year’s SAMW has in store for us!
Keep an eye on www.menswearweek.co.za for dates & designer listings for 2016 shows.
